March 2013 *** Attention Windows 8 64-bit users *** During installation, you *may* see a message that the Microsoft WIA service has stopped responding. Please disregard this message and continue the installation. After the driver installation is complete, the scanner should function normally. **************************************** *********** Errata ************ At the time this document is written, the following are known limitations with the scanner. TWAIN Driver - Gray scanning with Smooth background - Detect control sheets When scanning in gray mode, any control sheet you put in the document stack to change to Color scanning will be discarded. This only occurs when "Smooth background" is selected as the scanner is already scanning in Color to detect the background color, smooth it, then convert the pixels to gray. TWAIN Driver - Fill margin holes The "Fill margin holes" option has inconsistent results when "Compress transfers" is also selected. If possible, a new scanner driver, Visioneer Acuity, or scanner firmware may be provided to work around any issue reported herein. A fix is not available at this time. Please regularly check the support pages for your scanner at www.xeroxscanners.com for updated scanner drivers. ******************************* ***** User guide addendum ***** This information is intended to supplement the user guide to clarify the following features in the provided driver and software. Visioneer OneTouch - Rotate Visioneer Acuity is required for image rotation. When Visioneer Acuity is not installed, any OneTouch Scan Configuration name containing the word "Rotate" will not have a rotated image in the final scan. Visioneer Acuity is automatically installed when you install the scanner driver from the installation disc. If you downloaded the scanner driver from our website, make sure you also download and install Visioneer Acuity. *******************************
