A fragment of recognized text may contain too many errors if its orientation was detected incorrectly or if its text is inverted.

To correctly recognize such texts:

  1. In the Image window, select the area or table cell that contains vertical or inverted text
  2. Click Inspector in the main toolbar and the click the Area Inspector button. In Text Properties:
    • In the Inversion drop-down list, select Inverted
    • Click the Orientation button that corresponds to the orientation of the text
  3. Relaunch the process.

For more information about working with areas, see "How to Edit Text Properties in Areas".

When scanning facing book pages, both pages will appear in a single image. FineReader Sprint can automatically separate facing pages during scanning. For more information, see "Automatic Image Preprocessing".

You can also edit a facing pages manually using the Image Editor tools.

  1. Click Split Pages.
  2. Select the drawing tool for horizontal Horizontal Separator or vertical Vertical Separator page separators.
  3. Click the facing pages on the image. As a result, the new pages in the image will be numbered from left to right.
  4. To split the image into more than two pages, place additional separators where needed.
Tip: To delete separators, click Clear.
  5. To split the page using the separators you have drawn, click Split.
Tip: If your FineReader document has multiple facing pages, you can draw the separator on one page and then use it to split multiple images. To achieve this, in the Selection drop-down list, select the appropriate option and click Split. This will work if the splitting line is positioned identically on all of the images. Otherwise, split each image individually.

If you click Split Automatically, the application will attempt to draw the separator and split the pages automatically.
