Tips for Working with CJK Texts

FineReader Sprint can recognize texts written in Hebrew, Yiddish, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Korean, and Arabic. Consider the following when working with documents written in Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages and documents in which both CJK and European languages are used:

If the document includes both CJK and European languages, specify them in the list of document languages. You can do this in the preferences window or in the New Task window before you run a conversion task.
FineReader Sprint will automatically detect the direction of text written in Chinese, Japanese or Korean characters. If required, you can manually adjust the direction of the text in the inspector. Click the Area Inspector button and then click the button for the desired text direction. Alternatively, you can select the area that contains the ideographic text and use the CJK Text Direction command in the shortcut menu.
