FineReader Sprint Exporting Results

Recognition results can be saved to a file, copied to the Clipboard, or e-mailed. You can export the entire FineReader Document, export selected pages only, and export document images to image files in one of the supported image file formats.

Be careful to select the appropriate export parameters and export mode.

Document export modes:

The export mode is selected based on how you are planning to use of the output document.

  1. "Exact copy"
Produces a document that is formatted identically to the original. This option is recommended for documents with complex layouts, such as advertising brochures. However, this option limits the ability to change the text and formatting of the output document.
  2. "Editable copy"
Produces a document whose formatting may differ slightly from that of the original. A document produced in this mode is easy to edit.
  3. "Formatted text"
Retains fonts, font sizes, and paragraphs, but does not retain the exact spacing or locations of the objects on the page. The resulting text will be aligned to the left. Text in a right-to-left language will be aligned to the right.

Note: Vertical texts will be changed to horizontal in this mode.

  4. "Plain text"
This mode does not retain text formatting.

How to export documents:

  1. Click Export in the main toolbar.

Tip. To export specific pages instead of exporting the entire document, select the pages, right click one of them, and click Export Pages... on the shortcut menu.

  2. Select the desired export parameters in the "Save settings" drop-down list.

See "Export Parameters" for more information.

  3. In the export dialog, enter a name for the file, the disk location where it should be exported, and select a file creation option:
    • "Create a single file for all pages "

Exports all pages of the document to one file.

    • "Create a separate file for each page"

Exports each page of the document to a separate file.

    • "Create a separate file for each source file"

Exports pages of the document to files similar to the original. As a result of the export, document pages will be saved in the same manner as they were uploaded to the program.

    • "Create a new file at each blank page"

Creates a new file after each blank page in the document.

  4. Select the "Open document after saving" option to open the document after it is exported.

Note: During export, you can protect a PDF document against unauthorized opening, printing, and editing. To do this, click Security Settings and customize Security Settings of a PDF document.

Tip: FineReader Sprint allows FineReader Documents to be saved. Later, you can open the saved FineReader Document and resume work without having to import images, mark up areas and customized parameters again. See "Saving a FineReader Document" for more information.
