The following options are available in this pane:
- Export mode
- Text and pictures only
This mode saves recognized text and pictures. The page will be fully searchable and the size of the PDF file will be small. The appearance of the resulting document may slightly differ from that of the original. - Text over the page image
This option saves the background and pictures of the original document and places the recognized text over them. Usually, this type of PDF requires more disk space than "Text and pictures only". The resulting PDF document is fully searchable. In some cases, the appearance of the resulting document may slightly differ from that of the original. - Text under the page image
This option saves the entire page image and places the recognized text underneath. Use this option to create a fully searchable document that looks virtually the same as the original. - Page image only
This option saves an exact image of the page. This type of PDF document will be virtually indistinguishable from the original but the file will not be searchable.
Note: PDF export parameters depend on the export mode you select. Thus, some parameters may be unavailable in certain modes.

- Color
Select "Full color" if you need to save the page image in color. Select Grayscale if you do not need to retain the color and want to reduce the file size.
Note. The Color parameter is not available when saving to JBIG2.
- Compression
When saving in the TIFF format, you can select an image compression method to reduce the file size. Two factors affect the choice of compression method: the desired quality of the output file and its size.
How to select an image compression method:
- Zip compression — Does not cause a loss of data and is suitable for images containing large areas in one color, for example, screen shots. This method is also suitable for black-and-white images.
- JPEG compression — Used for grayscale and color images, for example, photos. This method can significantly reduce the size of the output file but it causes a loss of data and reduced image quality (for example, blurred outlines and fewer color shades).
- Packbits — Does not result in a loss of data and is suitable for scanned black-and-white images.
- LZW compression — Does not result in a loss of data and is suitable for graphics and grayscale images.
- CCIT Group 4 — No data loss. Commonly used for black-and-white images created in graphical programs or scanned images. The CCITT Group 4 compression is a widespread compression method applied to virtually all images.
