FineReader Sprint PDF Document Security Settings

When exporting recognized text to PDF, you can protect content of the PDF document with:

  1. a password to prevent unauthorized opening
  2. a password to prevent the copying of content and document printing
You can specify a password in the Security Settings dialog. To open the dialog, click Security Settings at the bottom of the save dialog.

 

Password for Opening a Document

This password prevents unauthorized opening of a PDF document. Users can only open the document if they enter the password set by the author.

To set a password for opening a document:

  1. In the Security Settings dialog, under "Require a password to," select "Open document".
  2. Enter a password in the Password field.

Password for Printing and Copying Content from the Document

This password protects a PDF document against unauthorized printing and copying of file content from the computer screen. Users can only print and copy the document if they enter the password set by the author.

To set a password for printing a document or copying its content:

  1. In the Security Settings dialog, under "Require a password to", select "Print document" and "Copy content from the document".
  2. Enter a password in the Password field.
